“Is everybody is hanging out without me?” is the first book by Mindy Kaling, writer of the American remake of “The Office” and “The Mindy Project”.
I stumbled upon her book (my boyfriend had it) because I’ve actually never watched any of her shows. It is seven years old so you might find it cheap which is always nice.
However, I saw her in the movie “No Strings Attached” where she was playing one of Natalie Portman’s friends and a doctor like in “The Mindy Project”. Nevertheless, I knew her humor and how very different and refreshing it was.
As she said in her book “if you read this book every night before bed for 2 months” means there is a problem. It is a not-serious-solely-entertaining book where you discover more about herself and her evolution as a writer.
Mindy Kaling explores her life growing up in Massachusetts from an Indian family, her struggles, how her show about Ben Affleck and Matt Damon put her on the map (she played Ben) and how uncomfortable she was on Saturday Night Live but always with her great wit and humor.
She is so relatable and never takes herself seriously.
That book was definitely a good time and I began watching the “Mindy Project” from it!
